Here we are again, just a few weeks away from another new year. The year 2025 marks an exciting time for anyone looking to take control of their career, finances, and creativity. As technology evolves and digital platforms continue to expand, the opportunities for creators are more abundant than ever. Whether you’re sharing knowledge, showcasing talents, or building a community, becoming a creator can transform your life in ways you may not have imagined.

How to Start Your Creator Journey in 2025

Starting may feel daunting, but the process is simpler than you think:

1. Choose One to Three Topics that interests you: Focus on what you’re passionate about or skilled in. For example, I’ve made videos about camping, photography, and becoming a creator. You don’t have to pick one topic or niche, you can essentially “become the niche” by talking about all of your interests.
2. Pick Your Platform: Decide where your target audience spends their time (e.g., YouTube, TikTok, Instagram, LinkedIn). It’s much easier to start with one platform and then expand from there. But as an example if you make an Instagram Reel, you can also post that on TikTok and YouTube shorts.. even X (Twitter) as well. So a lot of times one piece of content can be deployed on multiple platforms.
3. Create Consistently: Post regularly and focus on providing value. The more you post the better, but try create some sort of system (three videos a week, one tweet a day). Wherever it is you’re posting, just try to build some consistency.
4. Engage With Your Audience: Build genuine relationships with your followers to grow a loyal community. This will pay dividends.
5. Monetize Smartly: As you grow, experiment with different monetization strategies to diversify your income streams. As an example I’m currently working on a course for new Creators, but that could one day evolve into a cohort, book, or something else. Just focus on building one product and go from there.
